Transmission Changes in Ultraviolet Glasses during High Temperature Exposure to Light.

چکیده
Condensation of this thiohydantoin derivative with benzaldehyde and subsequent treatment with alkali yields benzal thiohydantoin (D), and the formation of this product demonstrates5 the presence in the original peptide of a glycine group with free carboxyl. Other considerations, not yet ripe for discussion here, suggest that a free carboxyl group belonging to eysteine is not also present. The formation of two thiohydantoin rings in the first condensation product (C) would also confirm the existence of a free a-carboxyl group in the glutamic acid residue of glutathione. It is interesting to note that structures A and B, with a slight preference for B, were chosen by Pirie and Pinhey6 on the basis of dissociation constants deduced from results obtained in the titration of glutathione.

Effects of ultraviolet light on the eye: role of protective glasses.
Global atmospheric changes such as depletion of ozone in the stratosphere are thought to lead to increased levels of ultraviolet radiation on earth. This can have adverse effects on human health, and long-term effects of ultraviolet light on the eye are of increasing concern. Ultraviolet light exposure to the eye has been associated with cataract formation and retinal degeneration. In both case...
متن کاملEstimated ultraviolet exposure levels for a sufficient vitamin D status in northwestern Iran
Introduction: Normal exposure to sunlight results in the production of vitamin D in human body, which happens because of the interaction between ultraviolet radiation and cholesterol in skin. Exposure to sunlight is responsible for 90 percent of vitamin D needed for the body. Studies show that Iran is a country with high percentage of lack of vitamin D (83 percent). Based on pr...
متن کاملUltraviolet radiation as a risk factor for cataract and macular degeneration.
The human eye is constantly exposed to sunlight and artificial lighting. Light transmission through the eye is fundamental to its unique biological functions of directing vision and circadian rhythm, and therefore, light absorbed by the eye must be benign. However, exposure to the intense ambient radiation can pose a hazard particularly if the recipient is over 40 years of age. This radiation e...
متن کاملThe Influence of the Environment and Clothing on Human Exposure to Ultraviolet Light
OBJECTION The aim of this study is to determine the effect of clothing and the environment on human exposure to ultraviolet light. METHODS The ultraviolet (ultraviolet A and ultraviolet B) light intensity was measured, and air quality parameters were recorded in 2014 in Beijing, China. Three types of clothing (white polyester cloth, pure cotton white T-shirt, and pure cotton black T-shirt) we...
متن کاملImproving light fastness of Reseda Luteola natural dyed wool with antioxidants and UV absorbent
One of the problems of natural yellow dyes (weld) is their low stability against light and their high fading rate. One of the main destructive factors in pale of color fibers and hand-woven carpet is the high-energy ultraviolet radiation which causes chemical bonds to break and optically damages of organic structures. In this study, the effect of some antioxidants (gallic acid, ascorbic acid) a...
